The WoD takes the old saying "It's not what you know, it's who you know" to a dark and dangerous extreme. In starting with a clean slate, we are also starting with the opportunity for players to work toward getting some influence contacts in areas that are generally off limits or already taken.

Police, fire, EMT services, local government, and major sports teams will all be restricted, both in the number of people who will be allowed to claim them, and in how high up the chain that influence can go. Players who claim low level influence early will have a better chance of working up the ladder as the game goes on.

Other than that, most things are free and open. Characters trying to claim influence should contact their ST with what groundwork that they're laying, and build a strong foundation. STs will then contact Admin to cross check the area being looked at, to keep track of who is claiming what.
